The project
Making a complex legal website feel simple.
Slee Blackwell is a long-established, nationally recognised law firm with offices across Devon, Somerset and Bristol. Their existing website held a huge amount of valuable content, including more than 1,500 legal articles, but the structure and technology were making it harder for users to find the right service, person or information. The brief was to modernise the brand experience, dramatically improve speed and usability, and protect the SEO value built up over many years.
What we did
A complete rebuild without sacrificing the SEO footprint.
We rebuilt the site as a lightweight custom WordPress theme, removing page-builder bloat and creating a much clearer route into legal services for both individuals and businesses. The new structure connects services, people, offices, case outcomes and legal articles. Predictive search and a detailed people finder help visitors search by expertise, office and role, while structured service and profile templates give the Slee Blackwell team a much easier CMS to maintain. A major part of the project was migration and SEO protection. More than 1,500 legal articles and a large existing URL footprint were reconciled, redirects were mapped, local office content was retained and the new templates were built with structured data and AI/search visibility in mind. We also added GA4 tracking, stored form submissions for added resilience, ReviewSolicitors and SRA integrations, and extensive performance optimisation. The result is a much faster, cleaner website that is easier for potential clients to use and easier for the firm to manage.
