The project
A digital home for Barnstaple’s culture, businesses and events.
Barnstaple is the commercial and cultural heart of North Devon, with a huge amount going on across independent businesses, heritage, arts, entertainment and events. We were approached by North Devon Council to create a new website that would bring all of that together and give people more reasons to discover the town.
What we did
Bringing everything happening in Barnstaple together.
We designed and built a bespoke website that makes it easy to discover what’s on, things to do and businesses across Barnstaple. A large searchable directory brings local organisations and attractions together, while custom filtering helps visitors quickly find the things that interest them.
Events are a big part of the site, with a dedicated What’s On section and functionality that allows businesses and organisations to submit their own events for approval. The same approach allows local businesses and activities to be submitted too, helping the site continue to grow without everything having to be added manually by the team.
The result is a flexible website that promotes the town, supports local businesses and gives residents and visitors one place to see what’s happening in Barnstaple.
